Video Intercom System for an Apartment Building:
Complete Upgrade for 16 Apartments

Tech24 upgraded the existing video intercom system in an apartment building with 16 apartments. The existing wiring could be reused, avoiding the need to rewire the entire building.

Residents were offered a choice of different indoor monitors. The new outdoor entrance panel was neatly finished with a custom-made metal cover plate that completely conceals the opening left by the old installation.

The Challenge

The apartment building with 16 apartments had an outdated video intercom system that needed to be completely replaced. The challenge was to modernise the installation without rewiring the entire building.

The existing wiring first had to be checked to determine whether it could be reused with the new system. In addition, the old outdoor entrance panel and indoor units were larger than the new devices, meaning that visible openings would remain after replacement.

Tech24 therefore needed to provide not only a new video intercom solution, but also a neat finish for the existing openings while giving residents a choice of different indoor monitors.

Results

Modern Video Intercom System for 16 Apartments

The outdated installation was completely replaced with a modern video entrance panel and new indoor monitors. Every resident now has a modern, user-friendly intercom solution.

The existing wiring could be reused, avoiding the need to rewire the entire apartment building and keeping disruptive work to a minimum.

Choice of Different Indoor Monitors

Residents could choose from different indoor monitors, including an option with a smartphone app. This allowed the solution to be tailored to each resident’s preferences.

Neat Finishing with Custom-Made Cover Plates

The opening left by the old entrance panel was concealed with a custom-made metal cover plate. Where needed, openings around the indoor monitors were also neatly covered with white Plexiglas plates.
